Driven dissipative quantum systems in correlated environments

Open quantum dynamics is a very successful approach to study the influence of environmental fluctuations on a quantum system resulting, i.e. in relaxation and dephasing. Typical problems in quantum electronic devices, photosynthetic energy transfer or ultrafast decay dynamics around conical intersections or avoided crossing involve quantum systems driven by external fields and subject to multiple environmental fluctuation sources possibly even correlated. I present results for the hallmark problem of the dissipative Landau – Zener problem and their usage to construct a symmetric rocking ratchet and to discuss (anti) Kibble-Zureck physics in a dissipative quantum Ising chain.
